Our QR tags follow a birth tree from the very beginning
Several municipalities and cities in Belgium gift newborns with a birth tree. You can plant this tree in your own garden or a 'birth forest' created by the municipality or city, where each parent can plant their personal birth tree. Plantsoon provides sustainable QR tags for birth trees. Via the QR code the tag, you get access to the digital passport of the birth tree. As a parent, you can take photos of the tree yourself and add them to the tree’s digital passport. This allows you to have a permanent record of the growth of the tree as a memory. Did you know that the tree is given the name of the child that was born?
By doing so, the municipality of Laakdal brings trees and ecological awareness to its inhabitants
The municipality of Laakdal has been giving birth trees to the children of its municipality for several years now. Parents can choose between a field maple, winter lime tree or apple tree. The intention is for the parents to plant the birth trees in their garden. The municipality can hereby achieve increased tree plantings by using private gardens. In addition, the municipality hopes to increase the ecological awareness and knowledge of its inhabitants. 33 children born in 2020 received a birth tree with the Plantsoon QR label. In the past two years there were a total of 130 birth and star trees (to memorialize a person) in Laakdal.
